Emanuele Buono has established himself as one of the most active guitarists of his generation. This concert at TGF is a result of winning the Michele Pittaluga Guitar Competition in Alessandria, Italy in 2013.
Born in Turin, Italy in 1987, he began to study the classical guitar at a very young age. He was awarded a first class degree with honours at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, at age of 18, and proceeded to further study at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena, where he obtained the certificate of merit twice in succession.
Emanuele Buono has received more than 40 awards in significant national and international competitions, including the prestigious Parkening Guitar Competition (Malibu, USA), where he received the gold medal by a unanimous decision of the jury. This has resulted in invitations to record for Naxos and Brilliant Classics. He has been invited to make his debut in several major concert halls, being warmly welcomed to undertake a concert tour at a number of renowned guitar festivals in Europe and the United States, such as this one in Finland.
